CALA Southwest Chapter is pleased to report the success of our annual program entitled “The Future of Reference: Sharpen Your Skills” at the Texas Library Association Annual Convention in Dallas, Texas on April 24, 2002.<\/p>\n

George Teoh, Library Chair, Houston Community College, Northwest campus<\/p>\n
Felicia Chuang, Library Director, Psychiatry Library, University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston<\/p>\n
Chloris Suk-Fong Yue, Reference Librarian, University of Houston at Clear Lake<\/p>\n
Cecilia Wang, Reference Librarian, Houston Public Library<\/p>\n
Wai-chi Mok, Business Information Specialist, McKinsey & Company, Boston (CD-ROM presentation)<\/p>\n
Tips and techniques on reference practices in college, public, and special libraries were the main focus of the program. Experiences about how to combine the best practices with technologies and meet new challenges were shared. The program was extremely well attended, with about 120 people in the audience, and received.<\/p>\n
After the program, the Chapter held its official meeting presided over by Mr. George Teoh, Chapter President. The Chapter’s newly elected officials for 2002-2003 are:<\/p>\n
