Greetings from the 2025 CALA Southeast and Southwest Joint Online Conference Planning Committee. CALA Southeast (SE) and Southwest (SW) Chapters will hold a Joint Online Conference on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm (Central Time).

Panel Title: AI in the Stacks: Navigating the Future of Libraries in the Age of Artificial Intelligence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 CALA SE & SW Chapters Joint Online Conference: Call for Proposal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear CALA Members,
CALA Southeast (SE) and Southwest (SW) Chapters are inviting presentation proposals for the CALA SE & SW Chapters Joint Online Conference 2025, which will be held on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm (Central Time) virtually.
Theme: Libraries in a Time of Change: Adapting, Advocating, and Innovating
Libraries have always been at the forefront of change, responding to evolving societal needs, technological advancements, and policy shifts. In an era marked by rapid transformations, libraries must continue to adapt, advocate, and innovate to serve their communities effectively. The CALA SE & SW Chapters Joint Online Conference 2025 invites library professionals, researchers, educators, and advocates to share your insights, experiences, and research on how libraries navigate change while upholding our essential role in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Proposal Tracks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Presentation (20 minutes+5 minutes Q&A)
A focused and in-depth presentation on a topic aligned with the conference theme. Ideal for best practices in libraries, research findings, case studies, library programs, and emerging trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Lightning Talk (5 minutes+10 minutes Q&A after all talks)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A concise and engaging talk highlights key ideas, projects, or innovations. Good for sharing projects in process, quick insights, and new ideas for research or practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards
To recognize outstanding contributions, the Best Presentation Award and Best Lightning Talk Award, with an incentive (TBA), will be given to presenters who demonstrate excellence in content, engagement, and impact. Award winners will be selected by a survey for conference attendees.
