2004 Annual Program


(1) Southwest Chapter held a holiday gathering on Nov. 6th and invited Eileen Liu from Tsai Feng Books, Inc. to be our guest speaker presenting newly released and popular books in Chinese, including fictions, non-fiction, and children’s literature. Participating members enjoyed a very informative presentation and many books brought along by Eileen Liu for her presentation ended in the hands of our members after the presentation. The Southwest Chapter presented a program entitled “Lifelines for the Online Learners” at the Texas Library Association Annual Convention in San Antonio on March 30, 2001. 2000 Annual Program


We are also very happy to report a successful program held on Thursday, April 13, 2000 in Houston at the Texas Library Association Annual Conference. The program “Creating a CD-ROM from scratch” was well presented by George Teoh, Library Chair, Houston Community College-Northwest. George demonstrated how he used digital camera, scanners, VCRs, audio cassette recorders and computers with CD writers to create CD-ROMs. The audience had a great feedback on George’s presentation. 2008 Annual Program


In early December 2007, I incorporated a library tour before the lunch gathering. Chapter Vice President/President Elect, Grace Gu, who worked as a head librarian at the Conrad N. Hilton Library at the University of Houston (UH), gave us a tour of the library.
